Tail & Feathers Blind Box Series at DesignerCon 2026

DesignerCon Pasadena 2026 played host to one of the most tightly limited blind box drops of the year, as Revise D and Plastic Pizza launched the Tail & Feathers Blind Box Series 1. With only 600 total blind boxes and 60 one-of-a-kind artist editions, the release represents the exclusive end of the designer toy spectrum.

The Collection

The main designer art toy release includes 600 blind boxes across three variants of 100 pieces each. The Solid Color variant features Meltdown Raton and Meltdown Beanie Bird. The Translucent variant offers Sunset Street Raton and Sunset Street Beanie Bird. The Glow-in-the-Dark variant includes Ghost Mask Raton and Ghost Skull Beanie Bird. Each blind box is priced at $50 with a card of authenticity.

Artist Limited Edition Series

Beyond the main release, 60 one-of-a-kind hand-painted pieces are available — 12 each from artists TJP, 5th Turtle, Hot Actor, Smeye World, and Mr. Mento. Each piece is personally signed by the creating artist, exclusive to Palmstreet and the DesignerCon booth.

This multi-artist approach reflects a growing trend in the designer toy community: collaborative releases that elevate multiple creators rather than focusing on a single brand. By bringing five additional artists into the release, the project creates opportunities for community members to gain visibility.

The Partnership Story

The collaboration between Revise D and Plastic Pizza spans years of friendship formed through shared love of art, toys, and community. Plastic Pizza, founded by Sarah and Jordan Fuchs, has built a devoted following through sold-out releases and convention appearances. Their journey from grassroots beginnings to Manhattan gallery auctions illustrates the maturation of the designer toy market.

What Limited Drops Mean for Collectors

Tail & Feathers represents the extreme end of scarcity in blind box culture — 600 total pieces in a market where major brands produce tens of thousands. This level of limitation creates intense demand and immediate secondary market activity. For collectors, the appeal lies in owning something genuinely rare, with clear provenance and artist involvement.

Contrast this with mass-market blind boxes from brands like BaiChaoHui, which balances accessibility with character-driven storytelling through its Zombie Party series. The market accommodates both approaches — ultra-limited artist editions for serious collectors and accessible blind box series for those building character universe collections.

The Role of Live Commerce

The drop was livestreamed on Palmstreet, a live-shopping marketplace app, broadcasting from the DesignerCon show floor. This integration of live commerce and physical convention presence reflects how designer toy retail is evolving, blending the in-person experience with digital reach.
